Why It’s Different

Most Sydney websites come from a template. Yours doesn’t have to.

Joanne Palazzetti, Turbo Studio web designer Sydney

Walk down any Sydney high street and look up the businesses on your phone. Most of their websites were built the same way: a purchased theme, a page builder, a stack of plugins and a layout you’ve seen a hundred times before. It works, sort of. It’s also slow, generic and quietly costing them customers.

Turbo Studio does it the old way, which turns out to be the fast way. Every website is coded from scratch — the design, the layout, the animations, all of it. Pages that load in a blink, clean HTML that Google can actually read and a site that looks like your business instead of a theme demo with your logo swapped in.

And there’s no account manager, no ticket queue, no faceless agency. The designer and the developer are the same person — me — which is why nothing gets lost in translation between the two.

THE PROCESS

How Your Website
Gets Built

1

We Talk

A free phone call, no pressure and no jargon. You tell me about your business, what you want the website to do and what you like the look of. I’ll tell you honestly what you need — and just as honestly what you don’t.

2

Design First

I design your site around your brand, your content and your customers — layouts, typography, imagery and copy shaped with intention. You see it, we refine it together, and nothing gets built until you love it.

3

Hand-Coded Build

The design becomes clean, fast, responsive code — written from scratch, tested on real phones and real browsers, with SEO structure, image optimisation and accessibility baked in rather than bolted on.

4

Launch & Look After

Hosting, domain setup and a proper launch checklist — then ongoing support so your website stays secure, fast and current. When you need a change, you message a person, not a portal.

What It Costs

Pricing, Out in the Open

Most web design agencies in Sydney make you sit through a discovery call before they’ll whisper a number. I publish mine. There are options at different levels, a ready-made website design personalised for your business, a one-page site or a fully custom build, so you can see exactly where your budget lands before we ever speak.

Because it’s one person and no agency overheads, you’re paying for design and code; not a project manager, an office fit-out and somebody’s ping-pong table.

Wondering whether custom code is worth it compared to WordPress or a DIY builder? I’ve written about exactly that, the honest version, including when a template genuinely is the right call.

GOOD QUESTIONS

Things People Ask

How long does a custom website take?

Most small business websites take a few weeks from kickoff to launch, depending on the size of the site and how ready your content is. A personalised one-page site or ready-made design can be live much faster. Either way, you get a clear timeline before we start — and I keep to it.

Do you write the content too?

Yes. Strategic website content, original imagery and AI generated brand assets are all part of what I do, so your site launches with words and visuals that actually sound like your business — not lorem ipsum with a deadline.

What about hosting and support after launch?

Covered. I provide hosting, domain setup and ongoing technical support, so your website stays secure, fast and current — and when something needs changing, you message a person who already knows your site inside out.

Do you only work with Sydney businesses?

Turbo Studio is Sydney based, but I build websites for small businesses right across Australia. Everything happens by phone, video call and email — distance has never once been a problem.

Why custom code instead of WordPress?

Faster loading, no plugin bloat, a far smaller security surface and a design built for your business rather than adapted from someone else’s theme. Google notices the difference and so do your customers. The longer answer lives on the blog.
