Vantelope Campervan hire
My own campervan business and my toughest client. A warm, editorial site for a hand-built, dog-friendly van made for slow trips along the east coast.

The brief
The brief: what they had and what they needed
Before
What I had
- A hand-built LDV van with a kitchen, hot showers, solar, a projector and room for the dog.
- An old site that undersold it, with five-star Camplify reviews doing all the heavy lifting.
- Forty how-to topics and nine manuals that guests needed on the road, scattered across PDFs.
After
What I needed
- A site that sells the feeling of the trip, not the spec sheet.
- A tour of the van, room by room, so people can picture themselves in it.
- A handbook guests can search at a campsite with one bar of signal.

Challenge and solution
Challenge and solution
TheChallenge
Sell a feeling, not a vehicle.
Campervan sites tend to read like a spec sheet: berths, litres, kilowatts. My guests are booking slow mornings, sandy dogs and campfires, so the site had to make them feel the trip before they looked at the price.
TheSolution
Four rooms. One road.
A tour that switches between the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and outdoor room, real guest reviews, three suggested journeys from Sydney, a trip planner that writes the enquiry, and a 40-topic handbook guests can search on the road.
Not a hotel. Not quite camping Something rather better
Design notes
The thinking behind the pages
- 01
Feeling first
Sunset roads, campfire footage and an editorial serif set the mood before a single price appears.
- 02
Room by room
The tour splits the van into kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and outdoor room, each with its photo and everything that’s packed.
- 03
Dogs are guests too
A whole section on travelling with your dog, because for a lot of guests that’s the deciding factor.
- 04
Help on the road
Forty searchable handbook topics, custom icons and every manual to download, so nobody’s squinting at a PDF at dusk.

Outcome
Wanderlust before the first click
- A homepage that sells the trip, not the specs
- A room-by-room tour of the van
- A trip planner that writes the enquiry for you
- A handbook guests can search on the road
